Sonata declares Fourth Quarter Results

Sonata Announces FY05 IV quarter and Year-ended March 2005 results
Sonata net up 44% - Increases Final Dividend to 35 %
Bangalore, April 21, 2005.

The Board of Directors, at its meeting held here today, took on record the Audited Accounts of Sonata Software Ltd for the Quarter & Year Ended 31st March 2005.

The Company's consolidated revenue was Rs. 3,293.07 million for the Year ended 31st March 2005 as compared to Rs. 2,221.99 million for the previous year, an increase of 48%. PAT was at Rs. 160.87 million for the Year ended 31 March 2005 as compared to Rs. 100.50 million for the previous year, an increase of 60%.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. B. Ramaswamy, President & Managing Director stated, "Growth during the year is a vindication of the partnership model the Company has been pursuing for the last 2-3 years. Spurred by this success, we will continue to pursue this business model even more aggressively".

Operating Highlights for the Year ended 31 March 2005

• Seventeen new clients were added during the Year.
• The geographical spread was USA 50% & Europe 50%.
• Cash generation from operations for the Year is Rs. 194.81 million.
• The Company has added 487 employees during the year, taking the total to 1251 employees as on 31st March 2005.
• The Third Development Centre was set up in Bangalore at a cash outlay of Rs.65 Million.
• The Company has established a Software development & disaster recovery center of around 78,000 Sq .Ft at Hyderabad.
• The Company acquired & established a wholly owned subsidiary in Germany.
• Receivables as number of day's sales have reduced from 126 to 92 days.
