-AP Government allots 8 acres of land to build IT campus
Bangalore (India), January 12, 2006
Sonata Software (Sonata) announced today that it has been allotted 8 acres of land in Hyderabad for setting up an IT campus. Under the Information and Communications Technology policy of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the IT&C department has allotted this land to Sonata in the bustling IT hub of Poppalguda, Hyderabad (Near Gacchi Bowli)
Sonata already has a presence in Hyderabad and operates an 800-people facility in the city. Situated a mere 1.3 kilometers from the Hyderabad airport, this development center plays host to some of Sonata's key international clients, managing their enterprise applications and IT infrastructure.
The proposed development center will function as a dedicated facility for global clients, and further fuel Sonata's growth and presence in the region. Sonata plans to invest Rs. 300 million to build this state-of-the-art campus. In a glittering ceremony, the company was recently awarded the MoU to this effect, by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
