Murali is Head - Human Resources at Sonata Software. An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, he carries over 22 years of experience in HR functions like People Management, Leadership Development, Performance & Rewards, and Consulting across a diverse range of industries including Manufacturing, IT/ITES Services and Consulting. He has also worked on and developed leading-edge tools for People Management and specializes in various domains in HR.

 

Murali has also been involved in designing and implementation of several assessment and development centers, and has extensive experience in the same. At Sonata, he will play a strategic role in synchronizing the HR function with the company’s operational and business requirements.

 

Prior to joining Sonata, Murali worked as a Consultant, Business & Executive Coach and interned from The Coaching Foundation of India. He has to his credit several coaching and senior leadership assessments. He was also the founder of a startup assessment company providing Online assessment solutions and was its CEO.

 

During the course of his career, he worked in different capacities with various IT as well as non-IT organizations including Perot Systems Inc., 24/7 Customer, SPIC Group, Kumaran Systems Inc., Murugappa Group, BOC plc, Oberoi Hotels and Mercer. 

Murali is also India’s first accredited consultant for CTT (Cultural Transformation Tools®) as an affiliate of Richard Barrett & Associates Inc. His extensive experience in the field of HR and Potential supports leaders to build cultural capital, competitive advantage and sustainability through values-driven organizational cultures.

Murali’s family includes his wife, Uma, who is a Manager with a public sector Insurance major and his son Arvind, who studies in final school. Murali is passionate about outdoor adventure sports and enjoys pursuits like wilderness trekking, para-sailing and white water rafting along with his son.  His other hobbies include reading and cooking.
