Leading Indian software solutions company, Sonata Software Ltd. today reported its audited financial results for the fourth quarter and the financial year ended 31st March, 2009.

 

 

• Consolidated Revenue for the year at Rs. 1591 Cr, up 11% YoY

 

• Cash generation of Rs. 99.07 Cr (Consolidated) for the year

 

• Earnings per share (Consolidated) at Rs. 7.28 up 31%

 

• PAT (Consolidated) Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the last 5 years is 48%

 

• RONW and ROCE for the year for Sonata Software(Consolidated) at 30% and 31% respectively

 

• Net profit for the quarter at Rs. 17.22 Cr (Sonata Software Consolidated)

 

• 9 new clients were added during the quarter and 21 clients during the year

 

• Sonata through its subsidiary Sonata Information Technology Limited has signed up a partnership agreement with SAP for 

  offering  products & services to Indian Market.

 

• Opens subsidiary in the Middle East

 

• Completes first phase of fourth ODC in Global Villlage SEZ at Bangalore

 

• Adopts Accounting Standard 30, Financial Instrument : Recognition and Measurement for accounting of derivative

   transactions.

 

 

Commenting on the results, Mr. B. A large enterprise in the Middle East has engaged Sonata to move their existing Data Center to a Tier III Data Center. This includes movement of network, hardware and all mission critical applications with necessary business analysis and risk mitigation factors built in.

 

Sonata is working with a leading airline to automate their business critical processes and integrate them with their Oracle ERP application. Once implemented, the system will help the airline exercise greater control over their resources and save considerably on operating costs. The system will also provide for higher transaction velocity and increased user productivity by interfacing equipments like barcode readers and printers.

 

For one of the world's leading producers of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential for paper production based in the US, Sonata is enhancing the features of their corporate portal. This includes revamping the User Interface, enhancing the search functionality and customizing web parts including Global holidays calendar, Stock and Weather, based on the location information of the users.

 

Sonata is partnering a UK based business and technology company that assists public sector clients to develop a

Microsoft MOSS based application. This application will support the reporting, statutory compliance, forecasting and management needs of Government departments and service providers in the healthcare space.

 

A global document management company based in US retained Sonata for providing high end architectural consulting services for an Analytics project on the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.A reputed airline has contracted with Sonata to design and develop customized extensions to the HR modules of their Oracle ERP application. The extensions will enable the Airline to have greater flexibility in operations and provide increased self-service functionalities to its users, while delivering greater process control.

 

For a technology solutions company assisting enterprises to better manage their Accounts Receivables, Sonata is building a SaaS B2B information exchange platform that ensures PCI security compliance in data transmission and storage. For the same customer Sonata is developing a research prototype of a Telephony solution to navigate IVR systems automatically.

 

Sonata is assisting a Canadian enterprise to implement Microsoft CRM as replacement of their existing legacy system. The uniqueness of the implementation is the requirement to run both online and on SaaS. For the same customer, Sonata is developing complete test automation for their flagship legacy product.
