Sonata integrates SAP application with MOSS 2007 for a UK-based global IT Consulting company

Customer Profile :

The customer is a UK-based global IT Consulting company.

Business Scenario :

The customer had been using an SAP client server application, installed on all desktops, for entering timesheets. The customer wanted to replace the desktop application with a Web-based application, while retaining the SAP database.

Solution Delivered :

Sonata used SAP .NET connector (add-in for Visual Studio 2005) to generate proxies for BAPI objects and RFC. SAP .NET connector is a development environment that enables communication between the Microsoft .NET platform (MOSS 2007) and SAP system. It supports BAPI objects, RFC and Web services.

Sonata generated proxies for SAP objects, following which the application could access the SAP functionality defined in the BAPI objects or RFC.
