Firmware Development
Sonata's Embedded Systems group offers core-logic development services for controllers used in a large number of processes like injection molding and manufacturing of semiconductors, vacuum pumps, drive unit controllers for high pressure pumps, valves and switchgear, and controllers for home appliances like washing machines.

Firmware and Protocol Implementation
Sonata has considerable knowledge of the networking and telecom domains -- a consequence of its experience of working in these areas. We have extensively developed software for data networks based on IP and worked on access devices, switches and routers. We also develop protocol stacks in the areas of LAN, WAN, ATM, telecommunications and signaling, and for embedded applications on specific platforms.
Device Driver Development
We offer development services for a wide range of device drivers based on multiple platforms such as Unix, Linux/Lineo, Windows, VxWorks and pSOS, on specific chips. We also develop drivers for interfaces and devices like USB, Firewire, Bluetooth, IEEE802.XX, printer drivers, Audio/MIDI, etc.
Diagnostics, Tools and Utilities
We have a deep competency in developing on-board/remote diagnostics (CAN and KWP2000) for the automotive market as well as Web-based diagnostic tools for process control systems, which has won us significant customers from across the world.

We design as well as develop alternative user interfaces like hands-free, telematics, speech recognition-based command and control, and Web-interface for the automotive, consumer durables and entertainment sectors.

Network Management
Network Management Systems (NMS) have been an integral part of many system-development projects over the years. Sonata has developed NMS for both cabled and wireless networks that include the GUI application as well as the embedded support required for network management. We have also handled various network management functionalities like configuration management, fault management, network monitoring, etc., successfully.
