Solutions

The embedded systems group at Sonata provides software development and QA services for embedded and real-time systems. We have expertise in telecom/ networking, automotive, entertainment electronics and mobile/ handheld industry.

Controller development
We provide core-logic development for controllers used in a large number of processes like semiconductor manufacture, injection molding, vacuum pumps, drive unit controllers for high pressure pumps, valves and switchgear and controllers for home appliances like washing machines.

These controllers have been designed for a wide variety of platforms using different tools and technologies:

	CPCI, PC104, VME, Multibus and other backplane systems

Firmware and Protocol Implementation
Sonata has considerable domain knowledge in networking and telecom. We have experience in development of software for data networks based on IP and have worked on access devices, switches and routers. We also develop protocol stacks in the areas of LAN, WAN, ATM, telecommunications and signaling, and for embedded applications on specific platforms.

Device driver development
We develop device drivers for various devices on multiple platforms such as Unix, Linux/ Lineo, Windows, VxWorks and pSOS, on specific chips. We develop drivers for interfaces and devices like USB, Firewire, Bluetooth, IEEE802.XX, printer drivers, Audio/ MIDI etc

Diagnostics, tools and utilities
We develop on board/ remote diagnostics (CAN, KWP2000) for the automotive market, web-based diagnostic tools for process control systems.

UI/ MMI development
We develop alternative user interfaces like hands free, telematics, speech recognition-based command & control, and web-interface for automotive, consumer durables & entertainment sectors.

Mobile/ hand-held devices
We have expertise in writing applications on mobile and hand held devices and create value-added solutions in the areas of GSM, CDMA, GPRS, IEEE 802.11 based systems, 3G and Bluetooth.

Testing and validation services.
We create test suites for test automation, validation and verification. We also provide testing services like functional testing, load testing, technology testing, regression testing and integration testing.

Network management
Network management systems (NMS) have been an integral part of many system-development projects over the years. Sonata has developed NMS for both cabled and wireless networks that includes the GUI application as well as the embedded support required for network management. Various network management functionalities like configuration management, fault management, network monitoring etc. have been handled by us.
